Universal Declaration of World Peace
Preamble:
We, the representatives of the peoples of the world, recognizing the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family, proclaim this Universal Declaration of World Peace as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.
Article 1: Right to Peace
Every individual and community has the right to live in peace, free from fear and want, and to enjoy security within and protection from all forms of violence and oppression.
Article 2: Right to Justice, Equality, and Non-Discrimination
All humans are equal before the law and are entitled to equal protection without any discrimination. Social and economic justice is essential for peace, and all forms of discrimination and prejudice must be eliminated.
Article 3: Freedom of Belief and Expression
Every individual has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion, including the freedom to change their religion or belief, and the freedom to manifest their religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance.
Article 4: Right to Dignified Existence and Sustainable Environment
All humans are entitled to a life of dignity, supported by equitable access to resources within the Earth's ecological limits. The protection of the environment is a fundamental element of achieving peace.
Article 5: Commitment to Non-Violence and Inclusiveness
Non-violence, compassion, and inclusiveness are essential to maintaining peace. All forms of conflict should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, without resorting to violence.
Article 6: Right to Education and Information
Everyone has the right to education that promotes peace, tolerance, and understanding among all nations and peoples. Access to information is essential for informed participation in societal affairs.
Article 7: Right to Participate in Cultural Life
Every individual has the right to participate freely in their cultural community, to enjoy the arts, and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.
Article 8: Right to Development and Economic Equity
All peoples have the right to self-determination and development. Economic equity and the eradication of poverty are critical to the achievement of peace.
Article 9: Right to Health and Well-being
Everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. Access to healthcare services and healthy living conditions are essential for peace.
Article 10: Right to Humanitarian Assistance
In times of crisis, individuals and communities have the right to receive humanitarian assistance, and states have a duty to provide such assistance in a timely and effective manner.
Article 11: Implementation and Monitoring
Mechanisms shall be established for the implementation and monitoring of these rights, with accountability for violations ensured at both national and international levels.
